Hi, I’m Krithika. I became a physiotherapist because I have been the patient.
As a teenager I had surgery that left me unable to do the things everyone else took for granted — walking, running, moving without thinking about it. Intensive physiotherapy got me back on my feet, and going through the full rehabilitation process taught me two things: how hard the middle part is, and how much difference the right support at the right time makes. I have never forgotten either.
I hold an MSc in Specialist Physiotherapy Practice from Sheffield Hallam University and work across the clinic, people’s own homes and care homes. Parkinson’s disease is a particular interest of mine — the condition changes, so the physiotherapy has to change with it, which means regular reassessment rather than a fixed programme. I also work with stroke and other neurological conditions, age-related mobility problems, post-operative rehabilitation, respiratory conditions including COPD, and balance and falls rehabilitation.
I have completed additional training in Pilates and yoga therapy, and I draw on both alongside conventional physiotherapy where they suit the person — for breathing, core control, balance, and the calmer, steadier side of recovery. I have also trained in K-Laser and ASA laser therapy.
Recovery is not only exercises and hands-on treatment. Kindness, patience and someone genuinely in your corner matter too, and I work closely with families and with other healthcare professionals so that nobody is doing this alone.
Outside work I sing, and I keep up my own yoga practice.
